To honour the achievements of women and to promote gender equality and women’s rights, we at TecAlliance join in commemorating International Women’s Day (IWD) on 8 March. The theme for 2023 is “Embrace Equity”.
Why we support International Women’s Day
Founded by major vehicle spare parts manufacturers, we created a new international data standard for the automotive spare parts market over 25 years ago. In addition to up-to-date vehicle and spare parts data based on the TecDoc standard, we now also provide comprehensive repair and maintenance information. We deliver integrated solutions and consulting services for digital order processing, fleet management and market and data analysis to the independent automotive aftermarket.
Looking back on our company history, we have always been a predominantly male company and now include more than nine hundred colleagues(M/W/D). These colleagues are our most important success factor, the heart of our business. They are close to us.
We trust in our teams: our agile organisational structure with flat hierarchies inspires cooperation in our multicultural teams. We promote diversity and equal treatment of all people. Concisely: we welcome everyone.
We promote an appreciative corporate culture where we work responsibly and treat each other with respect. For us, the annual commemoration of IWD serves as a reminder that, despite the progress that has been made in terms of gender equality, there is still much work to be done. Women continue to face disparities in terms of pay, representation in leadership positions, and access to education and health services. Our participation underlines our efforts at TecAlliance in encouraging women to join us either via vocational training opportunities or as professionals to reduce the male overrepresentation and provide different viewpoints. Both studies and our experience have shown that this leads to better results.
#EmbraceEquity is the theme of this year’s IWD.
By embracing equity, we are working to create a more equal and just world, not just for all women but for everyone. This means challenging and breaking down systemic barriers that prevent women from reaching their full potential and ensuring that everyone has equal opportunities and access to resources.
Commemorating International Women’s Day is an opportunity to raise awareness about these issues and to work towards creating a world where all women are valued, respected, and treated with dignity.
To create a more equal and just world, it is crucial that we embrace equity and challenge these systemic barriers. This means acknowledging and addressing the inequalities that exist and working to create opportunities for all individuals to succeed.
We are confident that raising awareness on embracing equity will empower global cooperation in our multinational and cross-functional teams.
Let’s all use IWD to send a clear message that we stand for equity and diversity.
Proud of our team, we thank all our colleagues who have participated in this year’s IWD campaign!
